We are all about teaching kids how to save water and help the planet. We show fun ways to use rain barrels, waste less water, and plant cool native and succulent plants that don’t need much water. Led by kids, for kids!
How It All Started: Serafina's Story
When I was in 2nd grade, I entered a storytelling contest with kids from seven other schools in San Marcos, where I was born and raised. I actually won first place! I was so surprised when they kept reading names and my name was last for the first place medal! I was super excited.
Right after that, I went to visit my grandparents in Corpus Christi, and they told me something that shocked me. Water there is running out, and in just a year, there might not even be enough. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I wanted to do something to help. That’s when I decided to use my skills for storytelling and speaking to an audience to make a difference. I came up with all the ideas for my own charity, Kids Save Earth: Water Leaders Initiative, and even though adults had to do the paperwork, I’ve led the whole thing myself from the very beginning.
